Saif Gaddafi: Benghazi Will Fall In 48 Hours
So a big well done to the UN, whilst they have meeting after meeting to discuss a no-fly zone, these people are being slaughtered on the ground!
Don't worry, just leave it another couple of days and you won't need a no-fly zone, as Gaddaffi will be back in charge!

Yes he will, and what a ****ing joke it has been
We will have made an enemy of Gaddafi once again; no doubt this will effect our oil supplies; and stoked up Islamist opposition within Libya
Britain and France have been forceful on this tbf, it is Germany being cowards not wanting anything to do with any sort of conflict; and Obama pussyfooting around until the last minute
We have well and truly messed up here; and in Bahrain; and we will suffer for it in the future I fear...

The Iraq thing put too many off. Indeed setting aside the morality of this for a second we may be better off with the devil we know than some Muslim Brotherhood.
What I really think is that the UN should have given the OK and the Yanks use B! bombers to destroy Libya fighter planes on the ground. The UN isn't worth the mebership fee.

We actually agree, I'll be damned.. To your first point though, we 'may' have been better off with the devil we know; until we made it quite clear we stood against him, and agreed on a No Fly Zone with France. We have (well Cameron and the Cons have) put us in a no win scenario here

It's about time, The Libyan's need to sort out their civil war ASAP before other contries start meddling. Let's hope it's all over by the next couple of days. War is dreadful. War is about both sides killing the enemy, with the side that kills the most generally winning. The sooner one side prevails the better. Then Libya will become stable again.

Libya No-Fly Zone A 'Race Against Time'
The Prime Minister is spearheading diplomatic efforts to secure a United Nations resolution on Libya, in what his spokesman described as a "race against time". David Cameron has been engaged in a series of calls with world leaders as he tries to secure international support for measures against the Libyan regime, including a no-fly zone.
He has spoken to a range of Arab leaders, impressing on them the importance of Arab involvement in policing whatever framework of restrictions the UN might agree. At the same time, officials at the UN are gearing up for key talks preparing the ground for an anticipated vote of the resolution tabled by the UK, France and Lebanon.
The British Government has been encouraged by the progress of negotiations at the UN. However Downing Street admits there remains a range of views within the Security Council and securing the necessary votes - nine voting for and no abstentions - will not be easy.
Amid speculation other Security Council members might try to water down the resolution, Downing Street has emphasised the Prime Minister's commitment to the key parts of the text.
"We think a no-fly zone is an important part of the resolution," the Prime Minister's official spokesman told journalists. However, he acknowledged it alone will not have the desired outcome of toppling Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's regime. "A no-fly zone is not a silver bullet," he said. "We need to be looking at a range of measures."
It comes as both Col Gaddafi's forces and opposition fighters claimed to be in control of Libya's western city Misratah.
Furthermore, rebels in the eastern town of Ajdabiyah said they have pushed back Gaddafi troops, despite claims on Libyan state TV that the territory is now under government control. There are also reports that gunfire and explosions have been heard near the rebel stronghold of Benghazi.

I understand that we've been put in an impossible position but as David Cameron is "leading world efforts" I hope above hope that this does not go terribly wrong

Yes, let's have a Stable Libya under Gaddafi, who now hates our guts. What a glorious future that would be...NOT
^^America are possibly too late to back a NFZ FtL; and I fear China and Russia may have a bit to say on the matter too

Don't really care who wins, as long as it is a resounding victory for whatever side of the civil war. Anything less is a disaster for Libya. Libya needs stability and strong leadership. Think about why Gadaffi, as you say, "hates our guts". If our foreign office had not messed up and had kept it's mouth shut we would not have been in this position. The Foreign Secretary should be sacked as his judgement is suspect.
