The Fallacy Of The Gaza Withdrawal

Post by Irn Bru on Mon May 08, 2017 11:50 pm

Netanyahu is deliberately misleading the public to justify his obdurate refusal to embark on a significant withdrawal from the West Bank by rewriting the history of the withdrawal from Gaza and linking it directly to national security concerns.

Israeli intelligence at that time knew that Hamas was politically popular and had military capabilities that could overwhelm the PA’s internal security forces under Abbas in any confrontation.

But the desire of then-Prime Minister Sharon to rid Israel of a densely-populated Palestinian area, and his belief, as stated in the Kadima Party Platform, that “…in order to maintain a Jewish majority, part of the Land of Israel must be given up to maintain a Jewish and democratic state,” provided the impetus to evacuate Gaza first.

That was clpped from here...

And in addressing an audience in Paris Ariel Sharon said this...

to a Jewish audience in Paris recently, the prime minister explained further: "The future of the Jewish people depends on the nature of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. In this spirit we initiated the disengagement plan. That would secure the Jewish majority in the land of Israel."

So there you have it. It had nothing to do with peace and all to do with maintaining a Jewish majority in greater Israel.

Don't believe the lies you may read elswhere because that's what they are. These people are a actually a barrier to peace in this conflict and probaably wish to see the greater Israel with the Palestinians crushed. They really have to be exposed at every opportunity..

Good post Irn & you've really hit the nail on the head.

As you imply,it is the jews who have caused all the problems that have ever taken place in Palestine & I for one wouldn't believe a thing that the Israeli government told me.

They don't understand the meaning of the word peace unlike the Palestinians.
