Man arrested for killing trans woman in Pakistan

Post by Guest on Sun Mar 19, 2017 10:44 pm

A man has been arrested for the murder of a transgender woman in Lahore, Pakistan.

Fayyaz alias Muskaan was repeatedly stabbed in their home where they were found in a pool of blood.

The 25-year old had been living in the apartment for a few years after becoming distanced from their family when they came out as trans.

It’s believed that the murder suspect, identified only as Sufian, had developed a relationship with Muskaan.

Police believe that he stabbed Muskaan three times after they clashed over a financial dispute.

Investigators were initially hunting for more than one person, but now believe that Sufian may have acted on his own.

Early reports in the country appear to have misgendered Muskaan.

The transgender in community have faced unprecedented violence.

Health officials in Pakistan were found guilty of committing criminal negligence after a transgender activist died.

Alesha, a transgender activist in Pakistan was shot multiple times by a gang member. When admitted to The Lady Reading Hospital, doctors failed to treat her injuries straight away.

Another trans woman in Pakistan was shot after she refused to have sex with attackers who broke into her home.

The victim, Kashi, was shot in the thigh when three armed men broke into her home, in Mansehra, and attempted to rape her.

A transgender women is petitioning the high court in Lahore for better treatment of the trans community, and the authorities are appearing to adhere and work to create more equality.

Waqar Ali filed the petition with the help of trans advocate Sheraz Zaka. It calls on Pakistan to provide better protection for the transgender community in light a rise of attacks and abuse.

The country announced that trans people would be included in in the census for the first time ever, and a government department called for laws protecting the trans community to be re-assessed.

Evil or Very Mad Let's face the facts IMO....

That place would be the last place that i would visit on earth and would have to be tortured to even contemplate going there.

Absolutely horrible, but it appears nothing to do with religion. So you don't think transgender people are persecuted anywhere else in the world? Only the other day there was a terrible one in Brazil.

I read and saw some footage about the girl in Brazil. I just found that too horrible to even contemplate even posting the story. Embarassed (the footage was just too graphic)

I'm sure that you would agree that the least safest places in the world for gay/trans people are muslim countries?

You know....

We have a muslim neighbour (in her early 30's)

She lives here!

She's bawling her eyes out to us the other week about her devout family!

Sounds like it's a bit horrific to be a muslim in this country unless you abide by the religion 100 percent

Her sisters some times come here. They are wearing hijabs.

....We always found it very odd that she always double locks her door....She said that she knows that we are here, so the security of the house is ok.,,,She is still nervous though,

I think that she got social housing due to family abuse. She did a mutual exchange from a very rural area to here, then she got very lonely and she got in touch with her family again.

She was more happy when she first moved in but then she got in contact with them again.

She knows and we said that if she gets worried that she can knock on our door.

I would have a few choice words to say to the religious barbarians given half the chance!
