Copeland and Stoke

Post by Guest on Fri Feb 24, 2017 6:17 pm

Some bad and some good news!

It seems in Copeland that Labour is disunited and Jeremy Corbyn was simply not pro nuclear enough and folk were worried about their jobs in the nuclear industry, also the tories are parading on UKIP turf, they've drifted further to the right perhaps the tories are stupid enough to continue down this path, hopefully to their own destruction.

Stoke was a massive boost for Labour and another nail in UKIPs coffin, folk must realise that brexiteers are not far right, this must be a lesson learned because there are many Labour supporters pro Corbyn but anti EU.

If the PLP start wavering and plotting again! Deselect them and put real socialists in their seats to further the message, and give Corbyn time to really establish himself as the only true alternative in British politics.

Corbyn won't step down anyway.

We will face inevitable defeat at the next election. Let's hope that there is some infrastructure to save when Labour eventually regains power under a more moderate and younger leader.

Jeremy Corbyn is the best Labour leader in my lifetime, probably the best labour leader since Clement Attlee, he is a man of principles and these principles will see him through.

Us Brits will put him through the mill as is our way, he is ridiculed and attacked day in day out, he has the establishment against him, he has the media against him, he has a legion of vested interests against him and he has the PLP against him, and yet he holds the hope of the membership who realise his strength and decency, and after all the shit he's been through he still stands firm and I cannot see anyone capable of replacing him.

In 1945 everyone assumed Winston Churchill would win, he didn't, Labour won a landslide victory because the British people had changed!

With a great deal of respect scrat....

People thought that Michael Foot would be the saviour of the Labour party, and that led to the biggest defeats, electoral wise in our history...

It took John Smith to lead us back to saninty and to get us on the road to getting elected again.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm sure that your opinion is not only mainstream it may well be popular, but the world doesn't stand still, Jeremy Corbyn represents the best in us, deep down we know that, but we fear a leap into the dark, soon enough folk will begin to see that it's a leap into the light that's required, a world without war, without want.

I accept the fact that I could be wrong, Jeremy Corbyn could be dumped at any given moment for some middle of the road neo liberal Blairite or red Tory pro austerity bitterite and that's how we're likely to progress, however due to circumstance there's often no order, reason or logic to such events.

Labour has released the shackles of socialism, a future by design might occur, perhaps this is an opportunity to reach for the stars!

I don't think I'm a Marxist, but I'm sure I have some of their tendencies, some people are born to be reliant on the state and some people can only exist beyond it, to cater for both these traits is the trick!

Some folk lack ambition, they're happy with their lot,,,and why not, if they're satisfied with an ordinary life then that's ok, they should be catered for, kept healthy, fed and sheltered, but there are those who strive for more and these folk must be nurtured and encouraged, wealth is the current carrot, perhaps there's some other reward, something else that ambitious folk might strive for!

The RW press and the extreme RW on social media have engaged in a smear campaign against Jeremy Corbyn because he brings to the table a new way which is something the fear - like a fair and decent society fit for us all to live in where the poor, the sick and the vulnerable are looked after and treated with decency and respect.
