Hi Nems, I would think that is means to think and plan keeping in mind the results and how they would be dealt with and how they would effect the running of the company as a whole. Kinda like 'I'll take the kids to the beach, but I'll take food and drink because they will get hungry, and plasters because they will hurt themselves and towels and clean clothes, and something to keep them occupied on the way back so they don't annoy anyone' then you decide its all too much and you are not going to do it after all!!!!!

Ah I see.So like thinking what is involved in carrying out a plan, the things needed to make it work and how it will impact on everyone.
Would that be fair to say?

Operational planning deals with how to improve processes, systems or even people, to make them more effective or efficient,

Take a look at this site, it might give you a few clues about what may be expected from a plan.

lol! Not sure if it's exactly what you need, but it should help if you just want an explanation of what tactical planning is, as opposed to strategic planning.

It all makes me laugh, all these seminars and things. If someone is a good manager they do all that anyway, they spend so much on courses to teach people things they should have shown they knew about before they were promoted!
