Thread Deletion - Can Eddie join this site

Post by Admin on Wed Nov 02, 2011 8:35 pm

A thread was removed tonight which is a decision not taken lightly.

Originally the lounge area was private and accessible only to forum members. Unfortunately it was decided remember to open this up to public viewing.

Therefor some of the threads content could have misinterpreted by outside viewers who were not fully aware of our little community's history and personalities.

If required a private area can be implented for people to have such sensitive discussions. This could be arranged quite quickly. It would probably be prudent if members wishing to access this area could PM a moderator for access to it so as to allow only those offering a sympathetic ear etc.

Please discuss this quite serious proposal.

Apologies to all those who made contributions to the deleted thread.

Very good idea. I think that it is a great idea to have a section for sensitive issues that we dont want on public view.
Any posters who feel this is a good idea and who would like to be considered for access to this sensitive section then kindly PM me.

Obviously all moderators will have access but we would like it to be a section for calm support and confidentiality that does not require moderation so please bear that in mind if you wish to join this sensitive discussion section.

Many thanks

We all need to talk at times, sometimes about things happening in our lives or just sad memories. It would be nice to have somewhere with some comfy cushions, a hot cup of tea and a biscuit to just chat with friends.

Very well put Nems, but might people miss it on this thread. Is it worth making an announcement thing?

I agree.

Some people are just too vile and take pleasure in other peoples unhappiness.

I think it was my post that "wasn't sympathetic enough" so Sassy will have exercised her powers of censorship.

Phil and I exchanged a couple of pleasantaries as we do from time to time. I may of course be wrong. I am extrapolating from the fact that Fred Bloggs got a ban from Sassy for "not being sympathetic enough" an interesting criteria for a ban on a debating site one would think.

my hands are up. it was me, maybe to stiffle what would become WWIII, maybe because its anything for a quiet life

it was a topic that really Fred had no earthly cause to be on but am solving the privacy issue now so hopefully that's an end to it.

I hope to provide a platform for ranters about immigration, those who hate the EU and yes those who feel the need to discuss thir lives, unabused and unmolested

and after that WORLD PEACE

Who knows eh, I might just do it

Goodnite folks, its been, can I say, emotional!

I was about to reply but I see that Seren has filled you in with the reason Fred has been temporarily banned.

Ok it wasn't me then. As a positive contribution to the question isn't the PM supposed to be private. If someone wants to have a heart to heart can't PMs be sent to multiple recipients?

And it wasn't Sassy that banned him either, so that's two things you were wrong about.
When people feel they can't get any lower, perhaps they behave in an irrational way ?

Hindsight is a wondrous thing....
